WYSOK Championships Report and Results
April 2007
WYSOK held its latest tournament at a new venue, the Alice Bacon Centre in Normanton on Sunday 29th April 2007. In total 10 Karate clubs from around the West Yorkshire area were represented on the day with students ranging from the age of 5 up to 56 entering from the 43 categories available on the day competing for one of the 141 trophies on offer. Categories are in 3 main sections, Kumite (sparring), Kata (forms) and Katamawaza (Ground fighting / Grappling). Each category awards a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Competitors that are placed first in their category, the compete for the most prestegious Champion of Champions award. At the end of the tournament a total number of trophies that each club has been awarded is calculated and the results are below.
Congratulations to all those that entered and enjoyed the day. A Big thank you goes to Diane and those who assisted in the Café having refreshments at a tournament was amazing.
